According to the Constitution of India, the elected head of the state of winning party is an Chief Minister. The procedure of electing the chief minister among the twenty-nine states of India is repeated after every five years. The party which win the legislative elections with maximum number of seats, will get the chance to appoint the Chief Minister of government of that particular state.

  • O. Hasan Farook Maricar

O. Hasan Farook Maricar is the first and youngest chief minister of the union territory Pondicherry. He worked at this position continuously for eleven years and firstly elected when he was just 29. He was firstly elected on 9 April 1967 and worked till 6 March 1968. Then he was again selected on 17 March 1969 and worked until 3 January 1974. Then after certain years, he was again selected from 1985 to 1990. M. O. Hasan Farook Maricar was born on 6 September 1937 and died on 26 January 2012. In 2010, he was also appointed as the governor of Jharkhand and governor of Kerala in 2011. On 26 January 2012, he passed away due to cancer and kidney ailments.

  • Pema Khandu

Pema Khandu, the current chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh is the second youngest chief minister of India. He joined the office when he was just 37 years old by following the footsteps of his father Dorjee Khandu, former chief minister Dorjee Khandu. She joined the chief minister’s office on 17 July 2016, preceded by Nabam Tuki. Pema Khandu shifts his party for three times from Indian National Congress to Peoples Party of Arunachal and then at last Bhartiya Janata Party in December 2016. Pema Khandhu was born in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh on 21 August 1979. He was graduated from the Hindu College of Delhi University. On 30 April 2011, his father was died in a helicopter plane crash.

  • Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav is the third youngest chief minister of India and first youngest minister of Uttar Pradesh. He served as the chief minister of the largest state Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017. He joined the chief minister’s office on 15 March 2012, when he was 38 years old. He belongs to Samajwadi Party when he was on the post of chief minister. But at the time of next elections in 2017, his father Mulayam Singh Yadav fired him from the party due to certain family feud. Akhilesh Yadav was born on 1 July 1973 in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh.
